Giza

  • Breakfast
  • Lunch

09:00 Meet your guide in the lobby of your hotel to start your tour.

The Grand Egyptian Museum, newly opened to the public, offers an awe-inspiring journey through more than 5,000 years of history in a setting as monumental as the treasures it houses. Overlooking the Pyramids of Giza, this vast, light-filled complex showcases Egypt’s most iconic artifacts, including the complete treasures of Tutankhamun presented with state-of-the-art design and storytelling. Visitors wander through grand galleries, towering statues, and immersive exhibits that bring ancient civilization vividly to life. It is Egypt’s new cultural crown jewel, and an essential highlight of any journey through the country’s past.

Lunch today is served inside the GEM at Laduree Restaurant. Pâtisserie E. Ladurée, commonly known as Ladurée, is a French manufacturer and retailer of high-end pastries, now open inside the Grand Egyptian Museum where you can savor all their world-famous patisseries. At the end of your tour (approximately 17:00) you will be transferred back to your hotel.

The remainder of your day is at leisure. Dinner is not included this evening, allowing you the freedom to dine at your leisure and explore the excellent local restaurants at your own pace.

Giza

  • Breakfast
  • Lunch

07:30 Meet your guide in the lobby of your hotel to start your tour.

Sakkara is the former necropolis (cemetery) for the ancient Egyptian city of Memphis and the place where the very first pyramids were built as tombs for kings. Instead of the smooth sides featured on other pyramids, the pyramids here feature six steps on the outside, representing the pharaoh’s stepladder to heaven. Discover the famous Step Pyramid of King Zoser, the first pyramid ever built and the world’s oldest freestanding stone structure. Included in your tour is entry to Step Pyramid and Mereruka Tomb.

Enjoy lunch at 139 Restaurant – Located within the Marriott Mena Hotel, a meal here offers breath-taking views of the towering pyramids, as well as the landscaped gardens. The restaurant has an intimate, informal atmosphere and casual attire is welcome. The international menu ranges from Middle Eastern to Indian classics.

The Great Pyramids of Giza are the only present-day survivors of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, built over 4,500 years ago as giant tombs for the mummies of the pharaohs Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, who were father, son and grandson respectively. The pyramids are truly monumental in scale, with the largest - Khufu's - constructed from over two million blocks. Included in your tour is entry to Cheops Pyramid.

Nearby sits the enigmatic Sphinx with the body of a lion and the face of a man wearing a royal head cloth, which workers may have based on King Khafre to guard his enormous funerary monument.

At the end of your tour (approximately 16:00) you will be transferred back to your hotel. The remainder of your day is leisure. Dinner is at your leisure this evening and Paula will be on hand to suggest a variety of local dining options to enjoy.

Cairo

  • Breakfast
  • Lunch

08:30 Meet your guide in the lobby of your hotel to start your tour.

Tradition has it that the church of St. Sergius was built over a location in which Mary, Joseph and the infant Jesus rested on their journey in Egypt. Located inside the Roman fortress in Old Cairo, it is believed to have been built by Roman soldiers in the third or fourth centuries and later turned into a Coptic church by the Egyptians. Dedicated to two soldier-saints, Sergius and Bacchus, the church has been rebuilt and restored since medieval times, but it is still considered to be a model of early Coptic churches. Proceed to the Hanging Church, named so because it sits “suspended” on top of the Fortress of Babylon that the Romans built when they came to Egypt. Thought to originate in the seventh century, this church in basilica style was once the seat of the Coptic Patriarchate.

Visit the Synagogue of Ben Ezra, built during the time of the once-thriving Jewish community in Egypt. Inside, the so-called “Geniza Documents” were found, a treasure hailed as an unparalleled source of information about the life of the Jews in Egypt’s past. Continue to visit Sultan Hassan and Refaee mosques with its grand, soaring architecture and rich decoration, the Mosque of Sultan Hassan, completed in 1363, is one of the finest in Egypt and also houses the mausoleum where Sultan Hassan’s sons are buried. A short walk across to the Mosque of Sultan Hassan, discover the much newer Refaie Mosque, completed in 1912 with well-preserved, colorful decoration. Buried in tombs there is a Muslim saint, a companion of the Prophet Mohamed, Egypt’s last royal family and the last Shah of Iran.

Lunch is served at Le Pacha - Le Pacha 1901 is one of Cairo’s landmark dining and entertainment venues. Originally a paddle boat from the turn of the century, Le Pacha was transformed into a nostalgic and magical location to reflect on Cairo’s glorious history.

End your day with the fascinating Khan El-Khalili Bazaar, reputed to be the largest bazaar in the Middle East. Originally founded as a watering stop for caravanserai in the 14th century, the bazaar has now grown to vast proportions. Wander through the labyrinth of narrow streets to find workshops and stalls selling all manner of things from woodwork and glassware to leather goods and perfumes.

At the end of your tour (approximately 17:00) you will be transferred back to your hotel. The remainder of your day is leisure. Dinner is left at your own leisure this evening, giving you the opportunity to discover and enjoy Cairo’s wonderful dining scene.

Cairo - Luxor

  • Breakfast
  • Lunch
  • Dinner

Your tour coordinator will meet you at the hotel lobby and escort you to Cairo Airport to board your Egypt-Air flight to Luxor. Upon arrival at Luxor Airport, you are welcomed by your tour coordinator in the arrivals hall and transferred to your luxurious ship the Nile Seray.

The Ship
Nile Seray ushers in a new era of luxury on the river that has captivated travelers for millennia. Designed for just 64 guests, with an exceptional staff-to-guest ratio of 1.5:1, it combines modern sophistication with a deep sense of place.

The Nile Seray’s 32 suites pair sweeping views of the Nile with interiors that balance elegance and comfort. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the spaces with natural light, while Juliet balconies allow guests to feel the river breeze as they sail. The design palette is warm and contemporary, with wood and rattan finishes, textured fabrics and calming neutral tones that echo the riverbanks beyond. King-size beds, Egyptian cotton linens and deluxe bathrooms ensure every suite is a sanctuary.

The Nile Seray has two high-end dining areas, a spa and a gym, and a chic top deck with the feel of a private club – canopied daybeds around a swimming pool, alongside an outdoor lounge, cooled by the breeze and shaded beneath canopies shaped like dahabiya sails. Every suite has Juliet balconies overlooking the banks of the Nile.

Entertainment on board

Every cruise will include:

  • A welcome ‘Zaffa’ which is traditional music with Egyptian drums and flutes.
  • A movie night.
  • An Egyptian cooking lesson with our on-board chefs.
  • A colorful ‘Galabeyya’ party which gives each guest the opportunity to dress up in traditional Egyptian dress and dance to Arabic music.
  • Folkloric shows, including a ‘Oud’ trio during teatime and dervish show after dinner.
  • A gala dinner with white-gloved waiters serving gourmet cuisine.

Food & Beverage
Dining aboard Nile Seray is as much a part of the journey as the river itself. With both indoor and outdoor restaurants, guests can choose between elegant, light-filled interiors or meals on deck with the Nile as a backdrop. Mealtimes are arranged around the day’s excursions, and service continues until the last guest has dined, ensuring an atmosphere that feels relaxed and unhurried. Menus balance international favourites with dishes that celebrate local flavours. A carefully selected drinks package is available across the fleet and bar service extends to the sundeck pool — perfect for refreshments between swims or while lounging in the sun. For something extra special, private dining can be arranged on request.

Menus are changed on a seasonal basis to enable the Chef to use the freshest ingredients at all times. The following is applicable to every cruise:

  • Most meals are served in the restaurant. However, at least one barbecue lunch (while sailing) will be served on deck (weather permitting).
  • Mineral water, tea and American coffee are included with every meal.

Luxor Schedule - 21 February
At a private dock in Luxor, step aboard your five-star riverboat, Nile Seray, to the sound of drums and flutes as you are greeted by a Zaffa musical procession, based on a wedding march that predates Islam.

After lunch onboard, explore the West Bank of the Nile with your Egyptologist guide. The Valley of the Kings is where, for nearly 500 years, some 65 rock-cut tombs and chambers were excavated for nobles and pharaohs. Your tour includes rare, behind-the-velvet-rope access to hidden treasures. History hangs heavy in the air as you explore the burial sites of Seti I and Ramses VI.

Cairo

In the early evening, after the West Bank closes, discover the tombs of King Tutankhamun and Amenhotep III with your Egyptologist during a private opening. On the way back to the Nile, you pass the Colossi of Memnon - two massive stone statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III, which stand at the front of the ruined Mortuary Temple and, in ancient times, were said to sing hauntingly at dawn.

Upon return to the Nile Seray you will be greeted by your Voyage Director before joining fellow guests for canapes, Egyptian wine and beer – the prelude to a gourmet dinner prepared by talented chefs.

Luxor

  • Breakfast
  • Lunch
  • Dinner

After a buffet breakfast, your archaeological odyssey continues with a visit to the Temple of Luxor to learn about the god Amun, to whom it is dedicated.

Luxor

Discover the Temple of Karnak, a complex of temples, pylons and chapels which you explore with your Egyptologist guide. Back on board, luxuriate in a leisurely lunch as your riverboat cruises to Esna — a city on the West Bank of the Nile, about 30 miles south of Luxor.

Luxor

Afternoon tea in the lounge beckons, and the day ends with a delicious dinner followed by a movie night — setting you up for the drama of exploring the Temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo the next day.

Tuesday
23 FEB 2027

Edfu – Kom Ombo

  • Breakfast
  • Lunch
  • Dinner

In the morning you will cruise to Edfu, where you disembark for a visit to the Temple of Edfu. One of the best-preserved shrines in Egypt, it was built between 237 and 57BC at the height of the Ptolemaic Kingdom’s powers and is dedicated to the deities Horus and Hathor. Inscriptions on its walls reveal much about language, myth and religion during the Hellenistic period in Egypt, including details of the temple’s construction.

Edfu – Kom Ombo

Back onboard, relax over lunch as you sail to Kom Ombo. If you wish, join a cookery class introducing you to typical Egyptian dishes, followed by afternoon tea. In the early evening, visit the magnificent Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek; in ancient times, the sacred reptiles could be seen basking in the desert sun on the banks of the Nile.

Edfu – Kom Ombo

Returning to the boat, enter into the spirit of local life as you dress in traditional galabeyya robes for an Egyptian Night featuring a lavish buffet dinner followed by music and dancing.

Aswan

  • Breakfast
  • Lunch
  • Dinner

After breakfast and your arrival in Aswan, a short trip by motorboat takes you to Agilika Island, set in the reservoir created by the Old Aswan Dam. Its construction in 1902 led to the partial flooding of the Philae temple complex, which was relocated to Agilika and painstakingly reassembled. Explore the island’s monumental structures, known for their striking hieroglyphic reliefs, before visiting the Granite Quarries that supplied most of the hard stone used by the Ancient Egyptians to build pyramids, temples and obelisks.

After lunch, board a traditional felucca (weather permitting) for a sail around Elephantine Island, declared a World Heritage Site on account of its many archaeological digs, continuing to Lord Kitchener’s Botanical Gardens (created by the World War I Field Marshall in the 1890s) and the hilltop Agha Khan Mausoleum.

Aswan

Returning to the boat, take afternoon tea to the accompaniment of an oud trio, playing the lute-like instrument of that name. That evening, your voyage concludes with a gala dinner complete with white-gloved waiters serving gourmet cuisine, plus a dervish show.

Thursday
25 FEB 2027

Aswan - Abu Simbel - Cairo

  • Breakfast
  • Lunch

Meet your tour coordinator in the reception and transfer to Aswan Airport. Board your Egypt Air flight to Abu Simbel. Discover the commanding twin temples of Ramses II and his wife, Queen Nefertari. The former’s façade is dominated by four 70-foot-tall statues of the pharaoh looking out over Lake Nasser, carved from a single piece of rock. Perhaps even more impressive, this entire site was disassembled and moved here to save it from the floodwaters caused by the construction of the Aswan High Dam. A picnic lunch bag will be provided.

Aswan - Abu Simbel - Cairo

After your visit, board your return flight to Cairo via Aswan. Upon arrival at Cairo Airport, you are transferred to the Waldorf Astoria Heliopolis. Located in one of the most affluent districts of greater Cairo known for its unique architecture, great shopping and dining options; it is also easily accessible to Cairo’s main landmarks and very close proximity to the Cairo International Airport. Discover exceptional services and hospitality at the Waldorf Astoria including a rejuvenating spa, four carefully curated dining concepts, each offering its own unique experience. Rooms and suites are spacious with modern décor and expansive floor-to-ceiling windows that let in an abundance of natural light. The remainder of your evening is leisure. Dinner tonight is under your own arrangements.
